It is hard not to be influenced by people close to us whom we love and respect such as, family members, friends and associates.  If you are the average person you are influenced by their average comment like, "Why don't you get a real job!" But you are not average, otherwise you would not be at this business related website.  However you might be tempted to give in to their taunting influence if your internet business is not making money at present.  Consider this, if they are better off than you, secure in their jobs and independently wealthy then you should listen to them and give up your internet ambitions or any other business goals you may have. That is, if you are average.

 

You are not average. That is why you realize that if you are not making money on the internet it is not because there is no money to be made, but because whatever you are doing is not working.

 

You need to get close to other influences. Learn from those who have gone down the same road you are now traveling. Those who have been frustrated and have learned to get around the obstacles and pitfalls and have gone on to be successful should be your mentors. They have learned the right things about marketing that are continually earning them a very nice income on the internet.  Just as a competent surgeon must continue to refresh his or her skills by reading, attending conferences, and learn new surgical procedures, so do successful internet marketers continue to sharpen their marketing skills. They continue to rub shoulders with other successful entrepreneurs and learn new tactics (What worked a couple of years ago may not work so well today.) Then put them into action. So who will you listen to?
