Why Read E-books?

Author: Paul Ranger
I find reading some business e-books to be stimulating and
informative. In addition to that, they keep my mind focused
on making money on the internet.

Some people However will read and then say, "I could have
come up with that information, I want my money back."

In many cases they may be right. They probably could have
come up with that information, but all they did was thought
about it and thought about it, until someone else put it in a
book.

Whenever I read a e-book and discovered that the
information was already in the "back of my mind,"  I would
mentally kick myself for not moving fast enough, or not
acting at all.  (Kicking myself physically is too painful).
I never demand my money back. I respect the person
who took the action I never did, and is now profiting from
it. Besides, their time is worth something.

Some e-books are technical information books like using
html, building  websites etc.. most of us could not get that
information unless we are thought, in a class room or from
a e-book.

I live in a city where at times it is more practical to take the
subway into Manhattan rather than drive a car there, except
on the weekends.  I take frequent trips to Virginia, North
Caroline and Florida. I may take Amtrak, or Fly.  During those
trips, I'm delighted to have a e-book that I have printed out to
read.

I have read books like Jim Cockrum's "Silent Sales Machine
Hiding On Ebay" The techniques he uses to capture e-mail
addresses from ebay bidders who visit his listing and leave
without bidding, is incredible. He will then market a related
Item to them at a later date. (For those who don't know,
having a opt-in e-mail address list can be very lucrative,
and very low cost advertising way to market your product).

I could have come up with that method, But I didn't, nor did
I put it in a book. How long would it have taken me to do it
though? Jim's book is certainly worth reading.

When I first tried to do business on the internet, I heard about
pay per click search engine advertising (PPC) . It didn't sound
like a good option at the time, because my budget was very
limited. In addition, I  wasn't aware that search engines like
Google.com can produce quality traffic for most businesses.
Many people go there looking for information and products,
and are in the mood for buying already. If your product can
solve their problem. they have ended their search and you
have a customer. I was made aware of this by reading
"GoogleCash" by Chris Carpenter.

Because of his book I was also forced to take another look at
Affiliate marketing, which Chris goes into much detail about.
He focuses mainly on promoting products without a website.

Although Google.com have changed their terms affecting
affiliate advertisers without websites and how often their ads
will appear, you will still benefit from the information in
GoogleCash, if you do have a website.

I have gotten some very rich information from Janiece V. Smith's
ebook "How An Overworked Traveling, Soggy Sandwich Eating
Dental Hygienist Made $11,212.00 A Month 100% Online"  She
tells how she makes money on ebay and how it has helped her
to make money off-line as well.

I could go on listing more books that have contributed to my
internet marketing education, but there isn't enough time.

Speaking of education, you may have been one of the fortunate
ones, but many of us have spent thousands of dollars on a college
education, listening  to professors giving their theories on business
having not run a successful business themselves. (There might be
a few exceptions) Most of the time those business courses are
about functioning in a corporation working for someone else.
It's essentially how to be a good employee, while  jostling for
the limited space at the top of the pyramid.

The amount of money you will spend on a few of these
fine e-books can never equal the expenses you've
accumulated in college. Some have huge student
loans that has to be paid back over many years.

University or not, formal or informal, you will need some sort
education. I would rather spend money on an education from
people who can show me how to do better in my own internet
business because they are doing it.  Even the health care and
legal proffessions need good business advice when they branch
out on their own.

In fairness to the Universities described above though, not
all e-book authors are doers either. Some have written on theory
also (Those I will not mention here). Nevertheless, even some
of the worst business e-books I have read still gave me a positive
charge,  Because It is my business I'm focused on not someone
else's.
