The Modern Day Gold Rush
The year was 1849 and in California the gold rush was on. In the previous year James W. Marshall, a carpenter, discovered gold while building a sawmill in the Sacramento Valley. His partner John A. Sutter wanted to keep it a secret but the news soon got out.
Samuel Brannan, a store owner near by figured he could sell a lot of mining supplies, so he made it his mission to spread the good news about the discovery in the area. He was on the right track because eventually many found gold and got rich and many more did not. Nevertheless all the prospectors successful or not, needed mining supplies in order to dig unless they were prepared to use their bare hands. Brannan found his gold through selling them mining supplies.
The internet is the place where the modern day gold rush is taking place. The news is out and still spreading. Many will make their fortunes here and for various reasons some will not. Don't overlook the opportunity to cater to the modern day prospectors.
Information products are good items to sell on-line. However, man does not live by information products alone! As the internet grows. and more and more people purchase computers, they will need their "mining supplies."
Whether they get websites, run auctions on
Ebay, do affiliate marketing or all of the above, they will need software to run their on-line business efficiently, merchant services to facilitate transactions with their customers, their computers will need parts and accessories. printer ink and paper, and lets not forget the regular consumer products, such as health & beauty products, gifts etc..
While looking for gold on the internet these people will need these things. Why not get them from you, either from your own website where you stock and market these things or through an affiliate program where someone else stock these items. Find your gold in internet mining supplies.
